Dating Safety Tips
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Online safety
- Never send money for any reason and report anyone who asks.
- Do not share personal information (home address, phone, financial details, workplace) early in a conversation.
- Be wary of people who immediately ask to move to WhatsApp, Line, Telegram, or another off-platform chat. Get to know someone first on VietPair.
- Do not share photos or personal information with people you do not yet trust.
- A verified profile means moderators have checked selfies against profile photos. Remain vigilant even with verified profiles.
Offline safety
If you choose to meet someone in real life:
- Have a short video call first — even with a verified profile.
- Meet in a public place (mall, café, busy restaurant).
- Do not share a vehicle on the first meeting.
- Meet in the daytime when possible.
- Tell a friend where you will be, or bring them along for the first meeting.
- Do not leave drinks or personal items unattended.
- Have a friend call you 15 minutes into a date so you have an easy excuse to leave if needed.
Reporting
- Use the Report option on a profile or conversation, and the Block option to stop seeing or being contacted by someone. Providing a reason helps moderators act faster.
- We do not notify the reported user that you specifically reported them.
- You can also email solutions@vietpair.com.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)
We have a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior, content, or activity involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation. Report immediately via the in-app Report feature and, if appropriate, contact us.
